We were first introduced to The National Design Collective because a dear friend gifted me a set of their city coasters last year.  We've been stocking them here at the shop ever since.  Based out of Toronto, this adorable couple won't be able to make it out for the Opening, but have shipped us some beautiful new work.

What's their story?

"Since 2009, the National Design Collective (the NDC ), is the result of excessive creative energy and object curiosity. We strive to create objects and experiences through narratives and experimentation. Everything is made by us or by using local sources, artisans, and manufacturers."

"the NDC is currently Scott Bodaly and Heather Lam.  With 10 years combined industrial design experience, we have worked on retail design, consumer electronics, and healthcare projects. With experience in 3D-printing, prototyping, fabrication, and mass production technologies, our unique past experiences give us a holistic view in our design process.  Our experience allows us to choose the best materials and manufacturing methods for the project at hand. We originally started the NDC as a way to experiment with different materials and processes. Over the last few years, the result of these experiments has become our passion, resulting in simple, beautiful, and functional designs to share with people like you!"
